William Sharp is a recently retired engineer living a quiet life in Oxfordshire. During a routine visit to a local car boot sale, he purchases an old military medal inscribed with the words:
“EXTRAORDINARY CIRCUMSTANCES”
Inside the presentation box are several seemingly unrelated items: faded wartime photographs, letters written from occupied France, an embroidered handkerchief and a small brass key marked K.C.1511.
Driven by curiosity, William sets out to discover who the medal belonged to and why it was discarded.
Across six episodes, THE MEDAL moves between present-day investigation and wartime drama, gradually revealing the full story of the medals recipient and the people whose lives were forever changed by his actions.
The series combines mystery, emotional family drama and historical suspense, building towards a powerful conclusion in which long-buried truths are finally acknowledged and justice is delivered decades too late.
